Qigong with Brian Wright

Learn more about instructor Brian Wright HERE.

Microcosmic Orbit qigong | New series starts Jan. 24,2026 | Saturdays 10:30-11:30am: Instructor Brian Wright will guide you through Microcosmic Orbit, a foundational QiGong meditation and breath practice for all ages and abilities — no experience necessary. This practice enhances your current tai chi or yoga practice. If you’re new, it can be the start of your journey to a lifelong meditation practice.  Microcosmic Orbit can be done seated, standing or lying down, whichever your body needs at the time. Wear comfortable clothing to class. A regular practice of QiGong Microcosmic Orbit can improve sleep, manage anxiety, level stress hormones, ease pain, lower blood pressure, improve overall sense of well-being, and so much more. Cost: $94 for the 8-week series.

Outdoor tai chi

Weekly on Saturdays: Join us outdoors all year! We start with qigong warmups of the 8 Brocades, then a few sets of the Yang 24 Form. In the summer (April-October), Tai Chi by the River meets at 8:45-10am on the lower platform of Stillwater’s Lowell Park. Winter Outdoor Tai Chi (November-March), meets at 3-4pm in Stillwater’s Pioneer Park. Whatever the season, wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Led by Aimee, Sherry and Will. All are welcome to follow along or just watch. This practice is by donation only; please bring something for the donation jar. Check our Facebook page for frequent updates.

Tai chi with Sherry Strand, RN

Intro to Tai Chi | Next session starts Jan. 12, 2026 | 8-week sessions on Mondays, 4:45-5:45pm: Learn the movements of the Yang Style 24-Form. Each class builds on the previous one, so taking the full 8-week series is strongly recommended. The Yang Style 24-Form is what we practice outdoors, in-studio and online. If space allows, a drop-in rate will be made available for those who have taken the Intro class previously and would like to drop in for review. This is a beginner’s class, no experience needed — but please check with your doctor before starting any exercise program. (Please note: Our online sign-up doesn’t allow for 15-minute increments, sorry for any confusion.)
Full series cost: $125 online payment. If mailing a check, please include your phone and email. This class fills up, full payment is required to hold your spot. If you don’t get signed up in time for the current series and you’re interested in joining the next one, please email Sherry HERE to be one of the first to get notified about upcoming dates.

Ongoing Tai Chi practice | 6-7pm Mondays: These ongoing, drop-in classes are for anyone with previous experience in the Tai Chi Yang 24 Form; those new to Tai Chi are welcome to follow along. Sliding fee $10-$20/practice. Drop cash/check in the brown mailbox by the front desk, no registration needed.

Tai Chi Yang 24 Cane & Broad Sword Form | Next 6-wk class series starts Jan. 29, 2026 | Thursdays 4:30-5:30pm | The Yang 24 Posture Tai Chi Cane Form is considered an extended energy form. Each class will start with the Shaolin 8 Pieces of Brocade as a warm-up exercise. Previous Tai Chi experience is required, and taking the entire 6-week series is highly recommended because each class builds on the previous one. This class accepts and includes cane form beginners as well as advanced cane students. In-studio at the Stillwater location; space is limited.

Canes may be purchased at Rising Sun Martial Arts Supply in St. Paul, 651-647-6987. Please email Will if you have questions about picking out a Tai Chi cane.

ON HIATUS: Hybrid tai chi meditation | 1st & 2nd Tuesdays monthly, 5:15-6:15pm:  Join us at the Stillwater studio with an online livestream option. Previous experience with the Yang 24 Form is required, and Aimee will share information to help you build on your Tai Chi practice. Registration is required only if you’re attending online so you can get the Zoom link.

ON HIATUS: Intermediate tai chi: This in-studio series is for those who have completed the Intro to Tai Chi series or have previous experience with the Yang 24 Form. This class will take your practice to the next level. We’ll discuss finding balance, cultivating the sensation of Qi, incorporating the breath in your movements plus much more!
